HomeMy WebLinkAboutWQ0001817_Monitoring - 10-2016_20161128Due to heavy rain from Hurricane Matthew and tropical storms the
freeboard exceeded the two foot limit. On October 12th we found a
leak on the southeast corner of the 12 acre lagoon. We notified Sarah
Toppen and Robert Tankard and they visited our site on October 12th
and 14th. Working together we determined that the lagoon had to be
lowered for repairs. We started spraying 24 hours a day on fields 1, 2, 3,
13, 14, and 15 for seven days to lower lagoon levels. Then, we started
spaying 8 hours a day, thereafter. On field three we went over our
yearly limits. We contacted Trader Construction Company and Carolina
Engineers to complete repairs on the berm. The work will begin when
lagoon levels are at 14 ft.
