Friday would normally be the next available date, but with the holiday this week, deadlines have moved up to be earlier. But, I just checked with layout and we have plenty of room to add another legal ad in for Friday's paper, so, to confirm, I have your legal ad set and released to run this Fri. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District (69 Darlington Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403) has applied to the North Carolina Division of Water Resources (DWR) for a 401 Water Quality Certification, pursuant to Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water Act and Title 15A North Carolina Administrative Code 02H .0500. The activity for which this certification is sought is to permanently impact 35.5 acres of jurisdictional wetlands to construct a toe berm around the existing Eagle Island dike to raise it to an elevation of 50 feet. The DWR must take final action on the application prior to January 16, 2017. The public is invited to comment in writing to the DWR on the application described above. Comments should be mailed to the NC Division of Water Resources, Attn: Jennifer Burdette, 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-1617, faxed to 919-807-6394, or emailed to jennifer.burdette@ncdenr.gov.
