The CURRITUCK has been aggressively digging this channel and by the end of today will have moved nearly 14,000 of the 18,000 cubic yards we planned to dredge. This has provided a good navigation channel for stakeholders and customers to use. Starting tomorrow, the CURRITUCK will leave Wanchese to address other scheduled dredging commitments, and the MURDEN will continue to do the final clean up while she is in transit on a daily basis between Wanchese and the bridge span. This strategy will allow us to ultimately achieve the removal of 18,000 cubic yards of material and reduce the drain on contributed funds provided by Dare County and the State. In short, most of the dredging is complete, and we will continue to take at least one load out per day over the next several days (10 to 14 days) with the Dredge MURDEN, until we reach 18,000 cubic yards (by November 18, respectively). Please let me know if you have any questions.
