The North Cat•olina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) received pet•mit No. SAW-2002-
2011-20447 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on November 22, 2011 for the
widening and impcovement project located along US 220 in and near Gt•eensboro and
Summer-field in Guildford and Rockingliam Counties (R-2309AB/R-2413C). A modification of
the USACE 404 permit was received on October 14, 2015.
NCDOT also received Water Quality Certi�cation (WQC) No. 3864 (Project No. 20110392)
from the North Ca�•olina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Resout�ces
(DWR) on August 5, 201 L Cot•rection letters were issued on August 15, August 29, and October
14, 2011. A modification of the DWR 401 WQC was i•eceived oi1 November 19, 2011.
Cul•rently, per Division 7, construction of R-2413C is not projected to be complete until
December 2017. R-2309AB constt•uction is considered complete. The USACE 404 Permit and
DWR 401 WQC expit•es on December 31, 2016. Therefore, an extension of the USACE 404 and
the DWR 401 WQC will be needed for R-2413C. NCDOT rec�uests to e;ctend the USACE 404
permit and DWR 401 WQC to December 31, 2017.
