Typical Cross Section Description: 2 lane road with 10' travel lanes, and 4' grassed shoulder. No guardrail is associated 2 lane road with 9.5' travel lanes and no paved shoulder. with this project due to close proximity of driveways located at the culvert and to allow for sight distance for entering and exiting these driveways safely. In lieu of guardrail the culvert was extended for safer fill slopes. Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: Year: Existing: 500 Year: General Project Narrative: The project consists of replacing Bridge 400254 on SR 3121 (Ferguson Rd) over Upper Tributary to South Prong Stinking Quarter Creek. The existing structure is a 35'x24.75' (Description of Minimization of Water timber deck on timberjoists with a su�ciency rating of 26.82. The proposed structure is a 2@ 10'X7' reinforced concrete box culvert. The culvert has been sized as to have one Quality Impacts) barrel match the existing channel to the greatest extent possible and is burried 1.0' below the existing bed and back filled with native stream material. The other barrel will have a sill and will only allow for high flow. Runoff will be conveyed through a 15" RCP in the northwest quadrant, this is to not disturb the rock wall adjacent to the project. A ditch in the south west quadrant transitions from an existing V ditch to a proposed rip rap lined base ditch with a Q2 velocity of 3.9 fUsec, rip rap was added to stabilize the ditch. In the south east quadrant an existing V ditch passes thru a 15" drive pipe and continues to the outlet end of the culvert across some culvert outlet protection, the velocity of this ditch has a Q2 velocity of 4.0 ft/sec. across the rip rap protection. Runoff will be conveyed through a 15" RCP in the northwest quadrant, this is to not disturb the rock wall adjactent to the project. Construction will proceed as follows: Traffic will be detoured off-site. Erosion and sedimentation control measures will be installed. Water will be diverted around the construction area. The old bridge will be removed. The proposed structure will be replaced on its existing alignment. The channel will be excavated and realigned for low flow shaping. Water will be gravity flow 24" piped around the work area during construction by installed impervious dikes upstream and downstream of the existing bridge. Special stilling basins will be utilized on an as needed basis to pump effluent trapped between the impervious dikes if a storm even overtops the dikes. Equipment to be used includes a track hoe, dump truck, paving equipment, pumps, various hand tools, possibly a crane to move construction material such as reinforced bars of steel, and concrete buckets to place conrete.
