Dear Mx. Davidson:
Pursuant to DWQ#20120632 issued October 30, 2012 for the impact of a linear stream
associated with the expansion of the West Schoolhouse Mine, Condition 12 Temperamre requires
annual reports of the temperature data to be submitted to the Asheville.Regional Office on
November 1 of each year. This project was recently constructed and completed,therefore please
find attached graph of this past year's daily temperature readings of the unnamed tributary
downstream of the permitted project,prior to entering Brushy Creek.
As you will note from the attached graph and prior to beginning the project, the
temperature in the unnamed downstream tributary exceeded 68 degrees F for the majority of the
summer months of 2016 and has likely been the case for many years. As this project did not
occur until September of 2016, the temperature data for the months during this.past summer
shall help serve as a background for furore temperature monitoring now that the diversion is
complete.
Condition 11 Flow requires photographic monitoring throughout the project during the
months of June,July and August. As the project did ,not begin unit September of 2016,
photographic monitoring will be submitted on November 1,2011 for the summer months during
next year to show this stream continues to provideaquaticlife propagation and biological
integrity.
