The City of Greensboro completed the relocation and enhancement of two tributaries of Horse
Pen Creek associated with the widening of New Garden Road in the fall of 2011. As we draw to
a close the fifth year of monitoring at this location, the City would like to respectfully request
that this mitigation site be considered successful and stable and that further monitoring be
deemed unnecessary.
Channel stability and vegetation survival have been very good throughout the monitoring period
with the exception of some Kudzu appearing this last year. One application of treatment for this
invasive species was done in late spring and The City is planning another application this fall.
The site will continue to be periodically monitored in the future for invasive species as well as
stability problems.
Thank you for working with the City on this project to make it a complete and successful project
for all parties concerned. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
Sincerely,
Guy Ingle
