BBQ Stormwater bioretention calulations Area of site to be treated with bioretention area 1.07 acres (46,609.2 sqft). Drainage area above the bioretention area will be diverted around the bioretention with swales. Storage volume required for bioretention area (first 1" of run-off) (46,609.2 sgft)(0.0833') = 3,882.5 tuft Ponding depth of 9" (0.75') = 5,176.67 sqft needed for the surface area in the bioretention area. The area located on the site drawing has 7,842 sqft of surface area Collect the run-off from the developed portion of the site in catch basin/yard inlets, and drainage pipes. Place pumps in the lowest catch basin to pump the run-off up into a manifold to distribute the run-off to the bioretention area. There is a 42' TDH from the pump location to the manifold location. Run-off from site = (0.85)(7.50)(1.07ac) = 6.82 cfs (3,061 gpm) There is approximately 3,800 cuft of storage available in the catch basins, and drainage pipes. Utilizing two "Myers" pumps 4WW100M4-03 with 8" impellers, the run-off can be pumped to the bioretention area at a rate of 900 gpm @ 42' TDH. (450 gpm per pump) At the 10 year storm flow, the drainage pipes and catch basins will fill within approximately 10 minutes. The pumps will be able to empty the draiange pipes and catch basins within approximately 32.5 minutes. An underdrain will be utilized in the bioretention area, to collect the treated run-off, and divert it to a cistern (1,500 gallon tank). T_h„,,m will be used to irrigate the landscaping around the buildings. ??Me/. .?i'nrrp?? Richard J. Franklin, P NC #028223 ? D J.
