CERTIFIED MAIL - RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED
City of Rocky Mount
Attn: Mr. Doug Roberson
Post Office Box 1180
Rocky Mount, NC 27802
Dear Mr. Roberson:
On Mary 22, 2002 and June 14, 2002 the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) was notified by
receipt of your application regarding your plan to fill isolated wetlands for the purpose of
constructing a demolition debris land fill at the City of Rocky Mount Land fill (LCID) in Edgecombe
County. Approval from DWQ is required to disturb these wetlands. Please provide seven copies of
the following information and refer to the DWQ# listed above in your reply. Your recent respond to
our April 15, 2002 letter is still confusing. For instance, are you still proposing to fill the 0.26 acres
of wetland area? In addition a site plan, which describes the need for the fill was not included.
Finally, the issue of Tar-Pamlico River buffers was not addressed.
I believe that the best way to address the continued inadequacy of this application is to
schedule a meeting in our office to discuss the project. Please telephone me at 919-733-9646 to
schedule the meeting or if you have any questions or require copies of our rules or procedural
materials. This project will remain on hold as incomplete in accordance with 15A NCAC 2H
.0505(c). The processing time for this application will begin when this information is received. If we
do not hear from you by writing within three (3) weeks we will assume you no longer want to pursue
the project and will consider it withdrawn.
Sincerely,
??k?4
