Attached for your information and review is a recently-received application from the Town
of Swansboro for a land application project. We have sent the project to the Wilmington
Regional Office for their review. There are isolated wetlands on the site that are proposed to be
impacted by spray of treated wastewater, fill and excavation. The proposed spray and fill are
either exempt from the isolated wetland permitting process and the excavation may be exempt. I
plan to meet with Coleen to discuss the isolated wetland rules in this regard and think it may be
useful to have a representative of your program present as well since this is the first application
we have seen proposing spray irrigation to isolated wetlands. Please call me (733-9646) or
email me if you are interested in meeting with us and I will set up a time in early April. I also
expect that a site visit with Noelle Lutheran, Wilmington Regional Office would be warranted so
please let me know if you or your staff are interested in that as well. Thankx
