Hey Katie, thanks for reviewing the report so quick. I looked at Tables 6 and 7. Table 7 was correct except for the two
plots (BS14 and BS29) that contained Red Maple volunteers. For some reason Red Maples weren’t included in the totals
on those two plots. I updated those two plots on Table 7, they were minor changes. I’m not sure what happened on
Table 6, but it was not correct. Table 6 was exported directly from the CVS database, so something must have happened
during the export. It seems like some columns are correct and some make no sense at all. I went ahead and updated
Table 6 by hand, so it should be correct. Please review the attached tables and let me know if you have any questions or
comments. Thanks!

Subject: BuckSwamp Mon. Report
Hey Jason,
I have finalized my review of the Buck Swamp Monitoring Report and have the following comments:
1.Overall, site conditions appear to look great and vegetation data results show stem densities higher than 320
stems/acre throughout the entire site.
2.No conservation easement encroachments were noted.
3.Tables 7.0 and 6.0 do not match up for volunteers counts and “total living” counts. Table 7 and the individual
plot data match up.
Example: Plot 1 on Table 6 = 13 planted, 2 missing, 0 volunteers and 14 living. Shouldn’t it read “13” are living?
Example: Plot 3 on Table 6 = 15 planted, 0 missing, 28 volunteers and 15 living. Shouldn’t it read “15+28 = 43
living?
Plot 3 on Table 7 = 15 planted, 28 volunteers (8 sycamores & 20 sweetgums) and 40 total stems (not
15 or 43). Were any of those 8 sycamores planted? I thought the “T” column was for “Total Stems”. If so,
wouldn’t that mean that there were only 25 volunteers instead of 28 volunteers? And doesn’t that bring the
Total Stems/Total Living Stems to 40 instead of 15?
Example: Plot 26 on Table 6 = 9 planted, 6 missing, 0 volunteers and 31 living.
Plot 26 on Table 7 = 9 planted, 20 volunteers and 29 total stems. This would mean 29 total stems, not
31 and the volunteers aren’t noted on Table 6 as they are on Table 7
These inconsistencies were noted in most of the plot data between Table 6 and Table 7. The problem with this
data, is that it is hard to determine which table is accurate and which plots may need future thinning of
volunteers, such as sweet gums.
1
4.Vegetation data results show stem densities higher than 320 stems/acre throughout the entire site except
around Plot 20.
Please provide an explanation via email, as to why there are discrepancies within the tables of this report. Please
correct data as deemed necessary and provide corrected tables along with your explanation.
Thank you kindly,
Katie
