The revised PCN—targeting work only on the Licklog Creek culvert crossing — will be mailed out within a couple weeks. I appreciate everyone's assistance during the change in scope of this project. DWR will put this project on -hold until the new revised plans are submitted. We can discuss acceptable options for the in -stream work when the updated PCN is submitted. Scott <scott.loftis@ncwildlife.org> Subject: RE: Licklog island Bank Stabilization & Licklog Creek Aquatic Barrier Mitigation Tim —thanks for the note. First, you may be aware that the island portion of the project is being shelved for now. Scott Loftis and I will be working on a revised set of plans and PCN that will cover just the work on Licklog Creek near the culvert. So, you can disregard the island portion of the application. For work on Licklog Creek, we could specify a pump -around but I'm a little skeptical that we can really dewater the channel that close to the river. The short reach of Licklog below the culvert is in backwater from the river and I think the discharge hose would simply back up. We could tell the contractor that they need to bring a materials to make a coffer dam to keep flowing water out of the work area and minimize sediment loss, but I don't think a dry work area will be feasible. I'm open to suggestions though. Just so you know, the bed materials in Licklog Creek are pretty coarse— cobble and gravel mainly. Thanks again. Sorry I missed the on-site meeting regarding this project. Could you clarify how you plan on minimizing and avoiding turbidity/sediment loss during the construction of the in - stream structures? Can you work in the dry at Licklog Creek during the channel grading and installation of the two boulder cross vanes?
