I just wanted to add that the addition of the buffer impacts from the bypass channels associated with future phases will mean that you have to submit a revised PCN indicating total buffer impacts and additional impact maps of those not already submitted. Joseph. John Schrum, PE - Horvath Associates, PA wrote: Annette and Joseph, Based upon our conversation today, we have agreed to provide the following: 1) For the wetland bypass channels, we currently we are showing the impacts for the permanent wetlands and not the wetlands for the future phases. We will provide the impacts due to the bypass channels for all of the wetlands, including those in future phases. 2) We will show the longitudinal slopes on the plans for the wetlands which we have designed. 3) We will show the vegetation zones in the wetland per the newest BMP Manual. 4) We will revise the channel dimensions on Sheet C458. 5) We will add a note regarding the cleared area for the bypass channels. It will state that grass will be sewn immediately upon completion of construction of each channel. Also, as to the letter you requested from DOT stating that it meets all safety requirements, the road will be a City road and not NC DOT. The sides of the road in the area will be fenced and there will be 14-feet from the back of curb to the beginning of the wetland side slopes. City of Durham Engineering is in the process of approving the Construction Documents, which show the wetlands located as they are. By approving the Construction Documents, they are implicitly approving the locations of the wetlands for safety purposes. However, we have attempted to get the City to provide a letter and, given it is something that don't normally do, they have been reluctant to provide it. We will be providing the above information to you no later than next Friday, May 30"th . Don't hesitate to give me a call should you have any additional questions.
