REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Gaddy:
Alan W. Klimek, P.E. Director
Division of Water Quality
DWQ Project if 06-0466
Franklin County
On March 21, 2006, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated March 20,
2006, to impact 0.0876 acres of wetland, 317 linear feet of perennial stream (294 linear feet permanent
impact, 23 linear feet temporary impact), and 17,285 square feet of Zone 1 Tar-Pamlico River basin
protected riparian buffers and 9,008 square feet of Zone 2 Tar-Pamlico River basin protected riparian
buffers (8,025 square feet pemment impact, 983 square feet temporary impact) to construct the proposed
residential subdivision, On May 2, 2006 and May 15, 2006, the DWQ received additional information
from you, however, the DWQ has determined that your application remains incomplete and/or provided
inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to
process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore,
unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward
denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H.0506 and will place this project on hold as
incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that
we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. As previously stated in the May, 11, 2006, correspondence to you, "You have indicated in your
response to the requested information in Section XI Sttririwater, ofy6ur PCN application that, "The
stormwater system for Whispering Pines Subdivision will provide detention at each stormwater
outlet, as well as diffuse flow through level spreaders at the outlet of each facility. At this point, the
stormwater system has not yet been designed, so storm drainage details and level spreader
worksheets are unavailable." Please identify the level spreaders, stormwater outlets and
detention facilities on your site plans." To be more precise, please resubmit plans that clearly
show these devices labeled as level spreaders, stormwater outlets and detention facilities, not
simply "Proposed Stormwater BMP".
Please contact the DWQ within three weeks of the date of this letter to verify that you have received this
letter and that you remain interested in continuing to pursue permitting of your project and will be
providing the DWQ the requested information at a later date. Please contact me in writing and Eric Kulz
