Thank you for meeting with Carter Worthy, Jeff Rezeli, and me on Wednesday April
30th regarding three parcels of land located on Oxford Road in Raleigh and subject
to the two DWQ variances identified above. We greatly appreciate your willingness
to meet with us and to provide answers to our specific questions about how to build
houses on these parcels. We respect the riparian buffer and DWQ's mission, and we
thank you for helping facilitate our efforts as well. You have helped us understand
how to proceed within the rules and spirit of the regulations.
I have enclosed with this letter copies of the site plan and two house plans that we
looked at with you yesterday, prepared by Jeff Rezeli. I thought you might want
these for your file. The enclosed plans show several of the items which we discussed
yesterday such as the roof overhangs, underground footings, second floor cantilever,
and wood-slat stoops and steps to provide rear access. It is our understanding that
these items will meet the spirit of the variance as shown; however, we will need to
file a modification request in order to get the front stoop encroachment on Lot 24
permitted or change the shape of the footprint polygon.
I have also enclosed a copy of the proposed recombination of two of these lots, which
has been submitted to the City of Raleigh but which has not yet been approved.
