Homewood@ncmail. net>, Annette Lucas <Annette.Lucas@NCMail.net> Eric, Just did a quick review of the level spreaders associated with these projects. I agree with Sue - most of the level spreaders appear to be placed adjacent to level spreaders that are too steep. I also agree with Sue that improperly designed level spreaders will do more harm than good AND that it is essential to make sure these designs will work in order for the project to be successful. Here are some bullets I use a lot in requests for more information: 1. Please provide a Level Supplement Sheet for each proposed level spreader that will be used on the site (including both worksheets, Design Summary and Required Items Checklist), as well as all of the required items. The BMP Supplement Forms are available on the DWQ web site at: http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/su/bmp forms.htm. 2. If any of the filter strips are too steep to allow for diffuse flow, then pease either relocate the level spreaders to a location where the filter strip slopes are appropriate for level spreaders or provide a BMP or series of BMPs that removal a minimum of 85 percent TSS and 30 percent TN from the stormwater generated by this project. For each proposed BMP, please provide a completed BMP Supplement Form, with all the required items. The BMP Supplement Forms are available at: http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/su/bmp_forms.1-itm. Please include both the Design Summary and the Required Items Checklist along with all the required items listed therein. Good luck! - I left the files in your mailbox.
