Charlotte, NC 28214 Subject: Hold, Boat Dock Dear Mr. Hepp: The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application fora 401 Water Quality Certification for the subject project on April 14, 2008. I have reviewed the application and the following information/comments are needed by this office in order to complete our review: a) Given the size of the proposed boat dock, are there any impacts proposed to the Catawba Riparian Buffer? The buffer extends 50 ft landward from full pond. Inside this area approval may be required before any impact can occur. Please provide a site diagram for any walkways, walking trails, or any other structure/impact that may be proposed within the buffer. You may review information for the buffer at: http://h2o.enr.state. nc. us/ncwetland/RiparianBufferRules. htm b) Will the shoreline be "stabilized? Approval is required for this activity as well. Please provide a diagram for this proposed activity. Impacts below full and above full pond and length of shoreline must be provided. Several representative photos of the shoreline should also be included. Pursuant to 15A NCAC 2H .0507(h), please be advised that this project will be placed on hold. Failure to submit the requested information by May 15, 2008 will result in the application being withdrawn from consideration. You may reapply, but a new fee and application will be required. In addition, this office is requesting that the Army Corps of Engineers withhold processing the 404 permit until the requested information is provided.
