Box 4000 Pinehurst, NC 28374 Subject Property: Pinehurst No. 7 Stream Restoration Ut to Aberdeen Creek [030750, 14-2-11-(1), C] REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Mr. Farren: On Apri13, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated April 1, 2008, with additional information received from you on April 10, 2008, to fill or otherwise impact 0.01 acres of 404/wetland and 2051inear feet of perennial stream, and 0.04 acres of open water (pond), to conduct the proposed stream restoration and stabilization at the site. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested below, your project will be formally returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: Per the information provided it is unclear as to what kind of activities are to take place with respect to the stream restoration. Please submit more detailed restoration figures/plans showing existing conditions, including elevations and proposed conditions, with cut and fill areas, and the proposed relocated stream channel cross sections if applicable. In addition, the purpose and need of the proposed barrier is unclear. DWQ is concerned that aquatic life passage could be hindered through the installation of this structure. Please provide a justification for the use of this barrier, as well as more details on the construction of this structure. Please submit this information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter. If we do not receive this requested information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter, your project will be withdrawn and you will need to reapply with a new application and a new fee. 401 Oversight/Express Review Permitting Unit 1650 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-1650 2321 Crabtree Boulevard, Suite 250, Raleigh, North Carolina 27604 Phone: 919-733-1786 /FAX 919-733-6893 /Internet: h~•//h2o enr state.nc.us/ncwetlands Nose hCarolina ~atura!!y An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - 50% Recycled/10% Post Consumer Paper Pinehurst, Inc.
