2nd REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Nance:
On January 8, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated
December 10, 2007, to construct a 104' by 30' canal in uplands and dredge a 90' by 30' access
channel to Kennedy Creek. On March 25, 2008 this Office received your revised plat for the
subject project. The DWQ has determined that your revised application was incomplete and/or
provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional
information in order to process your application to impact protected wetland, streams, and/or
buffers on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information
requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A
NCAC 2H .0506 and 2B .0233(8) and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we
receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may
continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
(i). This Office requires a Buffer Authorization for impacts proposed in the buffer. The
proposed impacts (concrete drive for boat lift operations) should demonstrate minimization of
impacts to the greatest extent practical.
(ii). It is also required to demonstrate where and how boat wash-down operations will take
place and how wastewater will be treated.
(iii). It is required that the applicant demonstrate how stormwater will be diverted into the
buffers and prevented from running down the proposed impervious surface and into 303d
impaired waters.
