WEBBER 266 BURNT RIDGE RD. LAKE LURE, NC 28746 ustabearmyaol.com 828-674-3582 Description of Project Existing rock sea wall built in the 1960's collapsed. In the lake bed, I propose to remove existing debris and remainder of old wall, footers if any, pour new footers and then pour cement wall. The wall at the shoreline is a maximum of 16 ft long, 10 1/2 ft high above the lake bed, and 12 in wide with 5/8 in rebar throughout as required by engineer. Height and length could possibly be less. Following completion of the new wall, rip rap will be used along the base of the wall meeting or exceeding required specifications. On the shoreward side of the proposed wall, clearing of ground cover and shrubs will occur to allow room for footer and forming of wall. After wall is complete, granite rocks from old wall and dirt will be used as backfill. Dirt falling into lake bed as part of clearing will be used first as backfill to clean up the lake bed. Proposed disturbance is 3ft by 16ft on each side of the wall but could end up being 4 ft by 16 ft. No trees in that area, only ground cover consisting of Vinca Major, English Ivy, and Virginia Creeper. There are a couple of Nandinas and some Hippeastrum bulbs there that will be removed and replaced. There are also a couple of Forsythia that will be removed but not replaced. An existing locust stump will be removed also.
