See observations below: -Inflow areas and steep side slopes of sediment basin are unstable and potential sources of sediment. -Portions of the pond side slopes are unstable (steeper than 1:1). Are all the pond side slopes at final grade? -Sediment deposition observed in channel upstream of first coir log (see photograph). Continue to monitor stream for sediment deposition and remove per the approved plan. -The stream was flowing clear based on visual observations during the site visit. -Significant sediment accumulation was observed behind the silt fence directly adjacent to the right streambank below the pond outlet (see photograph). How will this sediment be stabilized to minimize potential for sediment discharge to creek? Continue to work with Buncombe County to bring the site into compliance with the erosion and sediment control plan. Please address the questions above so we can process the modified 401 application. The application will remain on hold until we receive an adequate response. Contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns. Regards, Zan Price, P.E.
