Fish and Wildlife Associates, Inc. has resigned as the agent for M. Hernandez project on Slow
Creek in Cherokee County, NC. FWA has not received payment for our work on the project
since the 2005 monitoring report. FWA performed the 2006 monitoring, prepared and submitted
the 2006 report, and began the 2007 monitoring for vegetation and benthos with the
understanding that we would receive payment for our work. In the fall of 2007, it became clear
that Mr. Hernandez was not making an effort to pay our invoices. Therefore, FWA stopped the
monitoring before the final survey (longitudinal, cross section and pebble count) was performed
in 2007. We have made every effort to contact Mr. Hernandez to arrange some resolution, but
with no response FWA can no longer be involved with the monitoring of the project. Please note
this in your files for the project.
If you have any questions on the project, FWA will try and assist the Division of Water Quality
as much as possible.
