At a minimum, the Division of Water Resources (DWR) will need the following for the proposed impact modification: Revise table 3 on page 4 of the PCN to account for the additional impacts. Please clearly show the extent of the impacts on an updated plan sheet. Please provide a typical showing how the proposed culvert will meet aquatic life passage requirements. Provide a brief narrative explaining the purpose of the new culvert and describe measures taken to avoid and minimize the proposed culvert impact. The plan calls for a Priority I restoration. Please provide your range of design values for the proposed dimension, pattern, and profile of the new channel. DWR can issue a modified 401 approval after we receive and review the requested information. The applicant does not have authorization to impact additional waters at this time. Please review the conditions from the approval letter dated February 2, 2016. The following impacts are hereby approved provided that all of the other specific and general conditions of the Certification are met. No other impacts are approved, including incidental impacts. Wells construction should begin in next 2-3 weeks, pending permit from NCDOT for crossing a posted bridge (weight limit). Wilson pre-bid is Monday (tomorrow), so we're probably we month out or more on starting up. I think one or both of you expressed an interest in overseeing the work and knowing our schedule. Please remind me if you don't hear back. I have put a reminder for myself as well. Lastly, I would like to revise the permit request for Wilson site. I have attached permit comments and issued permits for reference. There's a small trib that is within the project reach, and is in poor shape with a head cut up to a driveway culvert. It is small and easy to fix, and we found that our NRCS contract was sufficient to let us address this while we're out there. It is about 1' to jump across it but its sunk in about 6-8' or more on the landscape. The additional impact length is 200 LF (original request is 2000 LF). The tributary is intermittent. Photos are attached as well as a plan sheet that shows the approach. We are not doing any more detailed plan on it. The landowner also wants to put in a 15' culvert on this reach, which we will need during construction for earth hauling (crossing the trib) anyways. What do each of you need in the formal request? Do I need to revise the PCN or anything else? Thanks, Jake ..................................................
