I received your letter the other day regarding the Town confirming the construction specifications of the Town's sewer line that runs off the island. We are still trying to do that. We have two plan versions so we have hired SEPI engineering again to help us with this. It is my opinion that regardless of the material used for construction of the line that the location of the dredging and the construction of the pier is unsafe. It also severely limits the Town's options in the future for repair, replacement or a construction of a duplicate line given that the project is planned in an area that the Town currently has an easement with the State. In addition to being a potential hazard and limiting the Town's future options for moving sewer off of the island, these slips will likely be sold or rented. When the Town has to repair the line or disrupt activities, I am sure there will be concerns from the owner of the slips regarding the financial impact of the Town's work. Thank you for your patience as we respond to your letter. Timothy W.
