Per the email below, the mitigation acceptance letter should indicate that DWR is requiring 413 feet of mitigation, not
the 201 that I previously stated. This will cover the culvert and riprap impacts on Lower Creek. The 518 ft. that the Corps
needs will still cover DWR’s needs but Dave needs this adjustment to be made for record keeping purposes. Thanks.

Yep. I know, but for record keeping purposes and the 401 permit, the letter from DMS needs to reflect DWRs mitigation
requirements.

OK. The mitigation that the Corps requires is still more due to the 2:1 ratio so the 518 feet we are requesting will cover
the riprap for DWR too.

If rip rap bank stabilization extends below the ordinary high water mark, DWR will also require mitigation for the 154
feet.

Beth,
NCDOT is requesting an acceptance letter to authorize mitigation payment for impacts to the subject project site.
This is a TIP roadway/intersection improvement project with one large culvert replacement and a small stream
relocation. The project will impact Lower Creek and one UT (class: C) along US 64/NC 90 in Lenoir, Caldwell County. The
project is in the Catawba River basin. The Cataloging Unit number is 03050101. The USACE is requiring mitigation for

259 linear feet x 2:1 for a total of 518 feet of mitigation for warm water stream impacts at the subject location. The
WBS # is 50200.1.1.
201 feet of mitigation @ a 1:1 ratio will be required by DWR so please email an acceptance letter for the 518 foot total
to Steve Kichefski, Dave Wanucha and Kristi Carpenter with a copy sent to me. Thank you for your attention to this
