LONG BRANCH PARTNERS March 3, 2008 Mr. Eric Kulz NCDENR, Division of Water Quality MAR 6 2008 2321 Crabtree Blvd, Ste 250 DEW - WATER QUA M Raleigh, NC 27604 WETLANDS AND STORMWATER BRANCH Dear Mr. Kulz, It was good to hear from you the other day. As we discussed, we are currently proceeding with the timbering required for us to begin the Henrietta Quarry Project. At this time, however, we have not decided when we will actually begin earthmoving activities. In order to confirm our conversation regarding the mitigation schedule the mitigation plan is split up into two phases, Phase One, for years one through five, and Phase Two, years 5 through 10. Phase One, which we are preparing to proceed with, will include the stream restoration of the un-named tributary UT-1 and the lower un-named tributary UT-2. Also included in Phase One will be the setting up of the conservation area along UT-2, which will protect the Dwarf-Flowered Heartleaf that resides along its banks. A wetland conservation area will also be established on north side of our property, which will offset the wetland impacts. Both of these conservation areas expect to be in place in the next 90 days in accordance with our US Army Corp 404 permit. Construction of the stream restoration is expected to begin this summer and be complete by this time next year. As we discussed, Phase Two, years five through ten, of the mitigation plan includes a combination of stream enhancements to Hog Pen Branch and enrollment in the NCEEP in lieu fee program. Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding the Project. Once construction activities are complete the monitoring phase of the work will begin as outlined in our permit. I will keep you informed as to the status of our Project and notify you before we start construction of the work. ng Branch Partners, LLC Business Office 315 Red Oak Flats Road - Dahlonega, GA 30533 - 706-867-6101 - 706-867-6102 (Fax)
