Proiect Descriptiou:
Replace Bridge No. 221 over Branch on SR I 135 Moorefields Road) in Orange County. Yroject length is
approximately 0123 miles. Proposed right-of-way is 50 feet fmm the centedine of the roadway with the
existing right-of-way at 30 feet There will be an off-site detour route of 2.9 miles. Projcct length and
proposed ROW are exaggerated at this time.

Description of review activities, rest[lts, nful conckrsions:
Revie�v of IIPO quad maps, HPOweb GIS mapping historic designations roster, and indexes was
conducted on 7/27/13. Based on tliis review, there are no existiug NR, SL, LD, Dis, or SS properties in
the Area of Potential �ffects (APE). Built in 1962, Bridge No. 221 has not been evaluated for listing to
the National Register of Aistoric Places (NRHP) according to the NCDO'f Historic Bridge Invcntory,
however, it appears to be a standard bridge design of no outstanding architectural or arcl�itectural
signific�nce according to Google Street View. Orange County GIS mapping and property records
revealcd no properties over tlze age of fifty years old �vithin the project APE. This is further confirmed by
Google Street View imagery. '1'lie APE lies south of �;fland i�i a rural area and consists of heavily wooded
areas dotted witli patches oF farmland and residences. Thus, a survey is not required for tl�is project.
