D. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project.
Bridges and swale bridges were utilized where practicable to minimize impacts. Culverts to be placed below the level of the stream bed on perennial
streams to allow passage and movement of aquatic life. Existing perched culvert at S-2 to be replaced. Total new project impacts will be kept to less
than 100 If of stream. Project avoids impacts to wetlands. Sediment and erosion control measures will be employed to prevent impacts.
1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques.
Work will be constructed in the dry. Live concrete will not be allowed to come into contact with surface waters. Sediment and erosion control measures
will be employed to prevent impacts.
2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State
2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for
impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State?
❑ Yes ❑X No
