Hey Alan,
The portion of the deck that extends in to Zone 2 is only 18' x 6' or 108sqft.
The house will not be in zone 2 at all. It will be situated at about the 51' line from the lake at its closest point.
The lower level deck will be raised off the ground about 3' at the max point, and 1' at the minimum.
The second story of the deck which will be on the main level of the home will be about 15' off the ground at the
max, and 13' at the minimum.
The deck extends outward in to zone 2 by six feet. Hopefully with such a small section, we won't need any
mitigation. Attached are more photos for your reference.
Thank you,
Troy Knight

I received the application. It appears the home itself is outside the 50 ft buffer. You propose a 270 sq ft
deck, off the rear of the house. It extends into Zone 2, and is approximately 200% larger than the 150 sq ft
(~12 X 13) allowed/below threshold. How much extends into the buffer (the portion). Apparently the back of
the house “sits” on the 51 ft buffer line? And not all of the 18X 15 deck is located in Zone 2. Can you provide
a bit more clarity
A photo of the lot, in general would be good, including an aerial.
You show the 50 buffer, but it is such a close up, it isn’t shown in relation to the lake.
Also a vicinity/location map
How high off the ground is the deck situated.
This application is also for a “file”, so we need clarity in case a person unfamiliar with the conversation can
understand the project

If Mitigation is required, I will need an acceptance letter from the Division of Mitigation Services (DMS) to
pay into the mitigation program prior to issuance. We double check and let you know…..asap
