Re: Parking Area stormwater for Joyner Park-Town of Wake Forest... Subject: Re: Parking Area stormwater for Joyner Park-Town of Wake Forest DWQ #07-1827 From: Annette Lucas <Annette.Lucas@NCMail.net> Date: Wed, 09 Jan 2008 09:30:08 -0500 O~ - 1P~Z~ To: Alan Keith <arkeith@bellsouth.net> Alan, I confirm that this is my understanding of our phone conversation as well. I will look forward to reviewing your submittal on Joyner Park. Annette Alan Keith wrote: ~ Annette Thank you for taking the time to assist us with Joyner Park. This is to confirm our understanding of our telephone conversation today. We had reviewed with you proposals for regrading the parking area for Joyner Park to achieve more diffuse flow to preclude the need for stormwater treatment. We understand DWQ would allow a reconfigured parking area similar to a sketch that you reviewed this afternoon (alternate B in our earlier fax) without a stormwater treatment device beyond filter strips. The reconfigured parking would more closely follow the existing contours and would disburse stormwater as much as possible along the edge of the parking lots. There would be no curb on the lower side of the lot. The revised lot would be graded to flatten the slopes as much as possible on the downstream side (4% grade desired on the filter strip receiving the parking lot flow). If gabions are used, the Town will agree to maintain the. gabions. We will also use a level spreader to diffuse the stormwater from the amphitheater area as we described in our earlier e-mail. The impervious area from the amphitheater will be less than 24 0, so no treatment is proposed there either. If you take exception to any of the above, please contact me immediately.
