I'm fine with that. Cherri From: Montalvo, Sheri A Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2016 10:34 AM To: Smith, Cherri L <cherri.smith@ncdenr.gov> Subject: Jordan Lake State Recreation Area Shoreline Stabilization Cherri, I got in a PCN for the above. It's for a NW 13 and references a previous permit in the app. The previous number referenced to is 200900412 Chatham County. I was going to version it, but that is not an accurate DWR #. Can you let me know if you can fugure out what number it should be versioned to or if you just want it to have a anew number? This application package consists of the following: a completed PCN form, proof of payment, associated maps and construction drawings. The primary purpose of this project is to stabilize selected shoreline around Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. The majority of these sites are eroding because of the flood events that have been occurring regularly in the last couple of years. These sites were selected because erosion is directly impacting North Carolina State Park resources, including camp sites. The goal of this project is to install rip rap along the shoreline to protect park infrastructure and recreation opportunities for the general public. DPR is concurrently submitting a permit application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under NWP 13. The request is being made to Andrew Williams in the Raleigh Office. Project Description 3a. Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: The land is used for recreational purposes and is managed by The State of North Carolina. Specifically the areas that are involved for this project are used for camping. The shoreline is eroding and is In danger of absorbing campsites and infrastructure. 3b. List the total estimated acreage of all existing wetlands on the property: - 220 acres per NWI GIS Mapping. 3c. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams (intermittent and perennial) on the property: - 35,300 linear feet per USGS GIS Stream Mapping 3d. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The purpose of the proposed project is to stabilize the banks of Jordan Lake where erosion is putting campsites and park infrastructure in jeopardy. 3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: The proposed project will stabilize lake shoreline at selected sites in the Parkers Creek and Poplar Point areas of Jordan Lake State Park. Stabilization will be achieved through some grading with heavy equipment and installation of rip -rap. Work will be completed by park staff with the goal of protecting the shoreline and minimizing impacts below the high water mark of the lake. Equipment to be used include backhoe, dump truck, bobcat, potentially a crane and hand tools. Grading will be completed with the purpose of allowing for a place where rip rap will be stationed and not wash away. 4. Jurisdictional Determinations 4a.
