This office is in receipt of the draft erosion and sedimentation control plan (plan) and your check
no. 1475 in the amount of $ 455.00 as the plan review fee for the referenced project.
To expedite the approval process, we have performed a preliminary review of the plan and
determined that additional information, as indicated on the attached checklist, must be submitted.
To facilitate the review, the requested information must be received in this office by June 20, 2016.
The receipt of additional information will not ensure approval of the plan. Failure to meet the
indicated deadline could result in plan disapproval.
Also, be advised that if this project is located in a coastal county or in Wayne or Pitt Counties, a .
separate stormwater permit may also be required from this Section.

Commencement or continuation of a land -disturbing activity under the jurisdiction of this Act prior
to the approval of an erosion and sediment control plan is a violation of the Act and subject to an
initial and/or daily civil penalty assessment of up to $5000. If you have questions please do not

PRELIMINARY REVIEW CHECKLIST EROSION & SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLAN
To expedite the approval process, a cursory review of your submitted Erosion Control Plan has been
made and has shown the need for additional information as specified below. Upon receipt of the
required information, a detailed review of the plan will be made and an approval or disapproval will
be issued.
An apparent buffer encroachment subject to the: _Neuse River Riparian Area Protection
and Maintenance Rule 15A NCAC 2B .0233). Encroachments on the protected buffers
require written approval by the Division of Water Quality (DWQ). A copy of your DWQ
approval or statement of exemption from the rule is required.-- Based on the information
provided (the soils map shows a possible blue line south of the proposed area)the project
appears to be within the riparian buffer of the stream south of the proposed construction.
No information provided to determine if the natural watercourse is exempted from the
Neuse buffer rules.
