The stream in question is an unnamed intermittent stream, which is an unnamed tributary to the French Broad River. The type of impact for S1 is the
addition of a pedestrian boardwalk and abutments. The length of impact was increased from 30' to 45' to add needed bank stabilization; since the initial
stream survey was completed, additional instability in the vicinity of the boardwalk has prompted the additional bank stabilization.

The project constitutes a positive impact, promoting access to nature within a municipal area. Banks will be revegetated using native mix variations
and no fertilizer shall be used within 10' of top of stream or riverbank. Existing vegetated buffers will be maintained or enhanced where needed.

Construction practices will follow guidelines from the NC Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual. Bank grading will be conducted
with caution in order to avoid spillback of graded sediments into the stream. At the stream crossing a bridge mat will be utilized for the temporary ditch
crossing, with check dams as needed.
