Outfall No. 1 at the facility has exceeded the benchmark value for total suspended solids (TSS) on four occasions. Furthermore, recent auditing of Winston-Salem Hauling's records indicates that the facility did not properly execute the Tier One and Tier Two responses. We want to assure the Department that this issue is of great concern to Waste Management of Carolinas, Inc., and that the facility's compliance under the permit is a high priority.
