I still am waiting on the mitigation for your project as requested in the attached email from me dated October 1, 2007. Please forward me, via email and a hard copy, a copy of the acceptance letter from a mitigation bank you plan on using. Thanks. -Amy Amy Chapman NC Division of Water Quality 401/Wetlands Unit 2321 Crabtree Blvd, Suite 250 Raleigh, NC 27604 Phone: 919-715-6823 Fax: 919-733-6893 E-mail: amy.chapman(a,ncmail.net Subject: Re: NCDOC Central Prison New RMC and MHC -Buffer Variance Application From: Amy Chapman <amy.chapman@ncmail.neV Date: Mon, Oi Oct 2007 08:13:38 -0400 To: "Flynn, Jim" <jwflynn@schenkelshultz.com> CC: mbarnes@jnpease.com, "Crockford, Heather" <heather.crockford@jnpease.com>, w1m14@doc.state.nc.us Jim, As I was writing the approval, I noticed one other thing I need to approve the project. For any variance application, mitigation is required. You would need to pay into a mitigation bank. Essentially you would take the square footage of impact for the parking lot, multiply that by 1.5, then multiply that number by 96 cents to see the dollar amount you must pay into the bank. I can give you the name and number for one mitigation bank that I know of (if you know of any other banks that's fine. We don't have a preference). Kelly Williams with the Ecosystem Enhancement Program: 919-716-1921. You would need to fill out the attached form and send it to her. Please contact her with questions about this form. She will then in turn send you a letter stating whether they do or do not have the available mitigation credits. You would send that letter to me. Thanks. -Amy Flynn, Jim wrote: Amy, 1 appreciate you assistance last Friday in providing some suggestions on how we could revise our application drawing to satisfy the requirement for nutrient treatment of storm runoff from the new asphalt paving within the buffer.
