As we discussed this impact is necessary to protect the buffer between the back of the house and the unnamed tributary. This is a very steep slope and will become highly eroded without the protection of the wall. The buffer disturbance in this area will be kept to a minimum . A trench will be excavated and the standing wall will be constructed and backfilled. Approximately 48 feet of buffer will remain behind the wall. The impact to the buffer (266 square feet) will be mitigated through payment to EEP. These proposed impacts cannot be accomplished or reduced in any manner that would better protect water quality or minimize the riparian impact. Best management practices will be utilized during all construction activities to minimize the disturbance, preserve aquatic life and habitat, and protect water quality.
