Dear Mr. Ridings:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) is preparing the planning
and environmental studies for the above referenced bridge replacement projects. It is
anticipated that the projects will be bridge to bridge and meet the requirements of a
USACE Nationwide Permit 3.
The purpose of this letter is to solicit your input concerning the potential impacts of the
proposed projects upon social, economic, demographic, land use or environmental
conditions near the project sites. A vicinity map along with existing bridge photos are
attached illustrating a description of each project.
Please note that there will be no formal interagency scoping meeting for this project.
This letter constitutes solicitation for scoping comments. To allow us to fully evaluate
the impacts of the proposed projects, please respond in writing by September 20, 2013, to
