TENNYSQN Secretary SUBJECT: Permit Modification for SAW-2015-00085 and NCDWQ Project # 20141290 replacing Bridge 132 with a culvert on SR 1435 over UT of Pig Basket Creek in Nash County. WBS 17BP.4.R.55 Dear Sirs: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (1VCDOT) requests a permit modification for the above mentioned project. NCDOT inadvertently did not show a parallel jurisdictional stream impact on our previous permit drawing. This feature is on both the soils and topo maps as a perennial stream. This stream portion originates at the outlet of an offsite pond. The section we are proposing to impact is flowing parallel to our roadway and is highly unstable with several big head cuts. Due the surrounding terrain and current instability of this section of stream, we propose to pipe the last 60 feet of this channel into the proposed culvert wall. This feature is buffered however we are not proposing any additional impacts to these buffers. New permit drawings and associated impact tables are attached. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact Chad Coggins, Division Environmental Officer at (252) 237-6164. Your time and effort are appreciated.
