7. Describe the treatment processes for the raw water:
Includes coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation, followed by filtration, pH
adjustment and disinfection.
8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the
facility:
Backwash water is pumped to 2 lagoons for settling. Once settled, water is then
dechlorinated, caustic or acid is added as needed for pH adjustment, then the discharge
valve is opened and water is gravity fed to discharge. No sludge removal needed as of yet.
Approximately every 3 months the settling basins at the water plant are drained for
cleaning. Supernatant is drained off to the lagoons for settling, dechlorination and pH
adjustment (as needed), then discharged. Sludge from the basins is pumped into trucks for
land application.
