Dear Mr. Harris:
This correspondence is in reference to your letter with attached debit ledger submitted April 24,
2014, regarding the UT to Turkey Creek at Middlesex Corporate Center Mitigation Site located
adjacent to the intersection of US 264 and NC 231, near Middlesex, Nash County, North Carolina.
This site is being utilized by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as
compensatory mitigation for stream and wetland impacts associated with construction of an access
road leading into the Middlesex Corporate Center. The mitigation site consists of approximately 120
linear feet of stream relocation at UT-1, 401inear feet of stream relocation at UT-2, 201inear feet of
stream restoration, 3900 linear feet of stream preservation and 146,000 square feet of buffer
preservation.
The debit ledger submitted with your request for closeout indicates 1460 linear feet of stream
preservation and 38,661 square feet of buffer preservation remain available for use on future
NCDOT projects in the Neuse River Basin (HUC 03020203), pending regulatory agency approval.
By copy of this letter, we are notifying you that no further monitoring of the site will be required
since the construction and success criteria for the mitigation site has been met.
