The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information and/or fee in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Please provide the following so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: ® Lack of permitting fee. Please note that beginning July 1, 2007, the N.C. General Assembly passed an increase for application fees for all regulatory programs administered by DWQ. The director of DWQ determined that the fee increase would specifically become effective for the 401 Program on September 1, 2007. Applications received as of September 1, 2007 with insufficient funds to meet the legislation will be return. The fee for applications is $240 for projects impacting less than an acre of wetland and less than 150 linear feet of streams whether intermittent or perennial). For projects impacting one or more acres of wetland or 150 or more feet of streams (whether intermittent or perennial), the fee is $570. ® In accordance with Water Quality Certification GC3689, NW27: "All proposed fill or modification of wetlands and/or waters, including streams and streambanks, under this General Certification requires application to, and written approval from the Division of Water Quality (the "Division"), regardless of the purpose of the restoration, enhancement, stabilization, or creation activity." Please contact this office in writing. If we do not hear from you within three weeks, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as returned. This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized (at this time) by the DWQ.
