PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that on July 19, 2024, the Town of Leland (P.O. Box 2230, Leland, NC
28451), applied to the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) for a 401 Individual Water Quality
Certification, pursuant to Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water Act and Title 15A NCAC 02H .0500.
The activity for which this certification is sought regards the construction of three new water supply
wells, a raw water line, and a well access road in Leland, Brunswick County, NC. The DWR’s
proposed date of final action on the application is February 10, 2025.
Written comments on the application described above must be received by DWR no later than 5
p.m. on February 10, 2025. Written comments may be submitted online by filling out the Public
Notice Comment Form here: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/401_Public_Notice_Comments.
Written comments may also be mailed to: 401 Permitting, 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC,
27699-1617.
The application is available online. Information for accessing the application/ project information

The application is also available at the Central Office of the DWR and may be inspected with an
appointment between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. For
