On-Site Stream Intermittent/Perennial Determination- EXPRESS REVIEW PROGRAM
On January 15, 2008, at the request of from Mrs. Amanda Boone of Duane K. Stewart&Associates, an on-site
determination was conducted to review one stream feature located on the subject property to determine its
ephemeral/intermittent/perennial status. The feature is labeled as"A"on the attached map, initialed by Lia Myott
on January 17, 2008. The Division of Water Quality(DWQ) has determined that the following:
• Feature"A" is an intermittent stream on the property until the flag labeled "A I"(at this point the feature
becomes ephemeral). The land has been disturbed(possibly during grading operations for the
construction of Rugby Road or the nearby houses) such that the streamflow largely dissipates into the
floodplain and the stream loses much geomorphology as the slope changes to an unnatural uphill grade
towards Rugby Road. The intermittent stream scored a 26.25 on the North Carolina Division of Water
Quality Stream Identification Form, and the downstream ephemeral stream scored a 16 on the Form(a
stream is classified as intermittent if is scores between 19 and 29).
This on-site determination shall expire five (5)years from the date of this letter.
This letter only addresses the intermittent/perennial status of the stream features listed above according to current
DWQ standards and does not approve any activity within the streams or address features that were not observed
during the site visit. Nor does this letter approve any activity within Waters of the United States or Waters of the
