Bethel School will continue to operate an existing 0.015 MGD extended aeration package
wastewater treatment system that includes the following components:
• Manual bar screen
• Aeration basin with dual blowers providing diffused air
• Clarifier with skimmer and sludge return
• Tablet chlorine disinfection with chlorine contact chamber
• Effluent polishing chamber
• Tablet dechlorination
The facility is located in Bethel, west of NC Highway 110 at the Bethel School WWTP off
Sonoma Road in Haywood County
