It is anticipated that approximately that I mg/I of iron will be removed. Annual Iron Removal = 365 days x 0.9 MGD x 8.43 x 1 mg/I - 2,740 lbs. • 2,740 lbs. / 140 lbs/ft3 • 19.6 ft3 per year Residuals Handling and Storage Backwash from the iron filters is distributed to two 40' by 20' waste settling tanks where the solids precipitate out. Depth of Residuals = Annual Residuals/Tank Area Within Tanks • 19.6ft3/(2x40'x20') • 0.01225' deep • 0.147"deep Adequate storage is available. Ultimate Disposal or Reuse Residuals do not have to be removed frequently.
