There has been no discharge from this facility since August 2005. In lieu of discharge,the water is being blended with raw water coming into the plant. It is anticipated that approximately that I mg/I of iron will be removed. Annual Iron Removal = 365 days x 0.9 MGD x 8.43 x 1 mg/I - 2,740 lbs. • 2,740 lbs. / 140 lbs/ft3 • 19.6 ft3 per year Residuals Handling and Storage Backwash from the iron filters is distributed to two 40' by 20' waste settling tanks where the solids precipitate out. Depth of Residuals = Annual Residuals/Tank Area Within Tanks • 19.6ft3/(2x40'x20') • 0.01225' deep • 0.147"deep Adequate storage is available. Ultimate Disposal or Reuse Residuals do not have to be removed frequently.
