PROJECT: Boardwalk Condominium
PLANNED: Requesting to stabilize 300 'of shoreline
LOCATION: Lake Norman, Mecklenburg County, Davidson, NC
The BoardWalk Condominium HOA and CT Hauling and Grading has contracted with my company,
Permits 4U, INC, to obtain the necessary permits for they proposed planned project listed above. The
homeowners is seeking to stabilize areas of eroding shoreline on Lake Norman. The shoreline project is
approximately 300 linear feet. The techniques to be used are taken from the Duke Energy -Shoreline
Management Guidelines, including enhanced rip -rap with boulder and plantings. The stabilization will
protect the Boardwalk's property from further degradation by erosion on the water side.
Enhanced boulder rip rap (with boulders and plantings) will be limited to only that necessary to stabilize
the eroded bank (300 ft.) as described in the application. Boulder rip rap will be confined to the area
between 6' below the full pond elevation not to exceed 1' above full pond elevation. Exposed soil
between the rocks on the shoreline will be planted with 1 gallon minimum size containerized plant stock.
There will be no construction of any boatslips and no dredging associated with this project. Please advise
me on any comments, questions, of changes/additions you might have on concerning this proposed
project.
Sincerely,
Ann Duncan
