SUBJECT: W-5204C Improve superelevations and regrade shoulders on NC 42
from Bullard Ct. to Tart's Mill Road. WBS: 45334.1.3
Dear Sirs:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to improve
superelevations through curves, overlay with open graded friction course, grade and
stabilize shoulders to provide proper drainage on NC 42 from Bullard Ct to Tart's Mill
Road. There have been 31 crashes along this stretch of highway within the past 10 years.
This proposed activity would permanently impact a total of 52 linear feet of stream as well
as have Neuse buffer impacts totaling 8070sf in BZl and 5960sf in BZ2. NCDOT
anticipates that this safety improvement project will be authorized under Nationwide
Permit 14 and NCDWQ GC # 3886.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact Chad
Coggins, Division Environmental Officer at (252) 296-3532. Your time and effort are
appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
