Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced SSO Notice of
Violation.
Aqua's Response:
On 9/27/2024 Aqua experienced a release of 1000 gallons of untreated wastewater from a manhole located
in the Cross Creek collection system. Heavy rainfall from Hurricane Helene on 9126124 inundated this
collection system causing debris to collect in the final manhole prior to discharge into the wastewater
treatment plant. Aqua staff and contractors were able to stop the overflow within 40 minutes. The manhole
and surrounding area were cleaned and treated with lime.
