The wastewater system is comprised of 1 sewage lift station and a
14,000 gallon per day treatment plant. The treatment plant discharges
into Nelsons Bay.
Performance Summary: The Treatment Plant suffered a loss of one
equalization basin pump, which was replaced. No issues encountered
due to pump failure. The plant exceeded daily enterococci permit limits
on June 22. No specific cause could be determined. Extra measures to
prevent future exceedences have been implemented. Sand Filter control
issues were encountered and corrected, no violations suffered due to
this.
A copy of this report will be displayed on the bulletin board at the
entrance of the facility. -
Wastewater Report
The North Carolina Clean Water Act of 1999 requires owners of a
wastewater treatment works to make a System Annual Performance
Report available to the customers upon their requests.
The Annual Performance Report for 2014 has been prepared and may
be obtained by contacting Patricia Davis ORC at 252-241-4211.
