I. Public Notice; Water Quality Certification for the Walden Pond Project; DWR# 20241456; Ver 1
Waxhaw, Union County
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that on October 23, 2024, the Walden Pond Homeowners
Association Inc of Yellow Pine Ct., Waxhaw, NC applied to the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR)
for a 401 Individual Water Quality Certification, pursuant to Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water
Act and Title 15A NCAC 02H .0500. The activity for which this certification is sought regards to
proposed dredging to remove excess sediments buildup within Walden Pond. The DWR’s proposed
date of final action on the application is December 13, 2024.
Written comments on the application described above must be received by DWR no later than 5
p.m. on December 13, 2024. Written comments may be submitted online by filling out the Public
Notice Comment Form here: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/401_Public_Notice_Comments.
Written comments may also be mailed to: 401 Permitting, 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC,
27699-1617.
The application is available online. Information for accessing the application/ project information

The application is also available at the Mooresville Regional Office of the DWR and may be inspected
with an appointment between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. For
